2001 freightliner

Rpms redline when depressing the clutch to shift
gears randomly not all the time. Almost like the
throttle is sticking. Shutting down the truck and
restarting usually fixes the problem

Check the connection at the throttle pedal, maybe unplug it and plug it back in. It may need to go to Freightliner for a computer reprogram. Which engine and transmission?
