08 Ford escape

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a 4wheel drive 4 cylinder 2008 Ford
escape not to long ago. My boyfriend seems
to think it's lacking power from the tranny
because it takes a few seconds to shift to
2nd gear when he floors it from a stop. But
when I drove it and don't floor it, it seems to
be fine. My car guy says it's because its a 4
cylinder 4 wheel drive and has weight to it. I
have no clue what to think... any input??

When you 'floor' the accelerator the transmission will downshift with a delay, that's how the vehicle is setup. Your boyfriend should stick to driving his own car. :-)
