Camry or Accord

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

After years of leasing I am getting ready to purchase
a new car.  I drive about 15-18k a year and hope to
have the car for 10 years or more. I plan to maintain
it well so that it can last.  I prefer the styling of the
current Accord over the current Camry.  My
mechanic says both are good durable cars (duh lol)
but that he prefers the Camry long term. Says the
Accord transmissions are not quite as reliable as
the Camry's.
Would love to get thoughts from the Car Gurus over
here.
Thanks in advance!

I would go with the Accord, the amount you are driving I think the ride of the Accord will be a lot better and it sounds like most of the driving is at highway speeds and that saves some wear on the the tranny. I had an Accord at one time and if the new ones are anything like the older ones, 10 years is a drop in the bucket.
