AC compressor not grounding

On GM cars......all the sensors feed to the ECM (engine control module) if the ECM's programming does not like some of the inputs, it will shut down things like the A/C which could add to a overheating problem. Without sophisticated diagnostic equipment sometimes the actual problem component is hard to identify.
