Power loss backfiring

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have 1998 s plate 2.5 v6 vectra  car starts fine
and seems fine while the automatic fuel pump/
choke is on. When it goes off I try to accelerate
and back fires and has no power. If I accelerate
slowly it keeps the steady build up of power and
doesn't back fire. Once up to about 30 to 35mph in
second or third you can boot it with no loss of
power or miss fire. Can anyone help please.

To lean at start up, have it scanned for codes using an old GM / Opel tech2 scanner.. HEGOS could be slow, sounds like its running off the computer fuel map not closed loop. so MAF and or MAP need to be checked. Fueling signals, and Data can be read in real time then its easy to correct. Scan cost approx 65.00 GBP
