Try some "sea foam" additive.

Change the fuel filter and add a can of Seafoam to the fuel tank and top it off with either Chevron or Texaco fuels, these fuels contain Techron and with the Seafoam it should clean up the fuel and injection system within around 100 miles, if you want it done quicker you can have it professionally cleaned and add a bottle of Techron every other fill up, that will keep it clean. You might want to think about a motor flush if the engine oil looks really bad, but if it has been regularly serviced then you should be good. Check the spark plugs, if worn tune it up, plugs, air filter, pcv valve and filter maybe even the cap, rotor and plug wires. Then you should think about servicing the tranny and checking the wheel bearings and differential fluid, belts, hoses, cooling system should all be checked before getting serious about a daily driver. As this is the old Ford OBD1 system you may want to educate yourself about testing and diagnosing that system, there is a lot of information on the internet and you tube. HTH
