What passenger cars are run by diesel?

Id like to purchase a diesel car, are there any on the market?

Many European makes have diesel versions. Volkswagen and Peugeot come to mind. They get outstanding milage, 1000 kilometres on a single tank of diesel is not uncommon.

BMW and Mercedes also sell diesels.

Ah here in HI, Big Island my options are lessened unless I import from the main land! Thanks for your responses. If gas was not easily available thinking diesel the best long term option.
