I have an 89 jeep Cherokee and it starts
just fine, but when I push the gas pedal it
just dies. What is the problem ?

Good question, could any number of things, low fuel pressure and or flow, TPS going open when throttle is pressed, blocked air flow, first thing is get the codes pulled, hopefully there will be some codes stored so at least you have some place to start.
