2001 Grand Am anti-theft system

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My ignition was destroyed by an idiot who
bought me a new ignition & installed it only
to find out it will no longer stay running
whwn u start it up. Apparently the anti-theft
system engages when it thinks its being
stolen, & unfortunately i nor anyone i know
have been able to figure out how to by-pass,
reset, or eliminate it. Does anyone know
who i would contact for the code you can
need to fix this? I have a clear title & am the
sole owner of my car.

Unfortunately to reprogram the system without a working key you'll have to visit your local GM dealer. HTH. -Jim
