Y won't the key start or shut off my 1997 f150 what else would it be I've already released the key switch

It is located under dash on steering column or on some fords it is inside the column,it will have a rod going to it,it is the actual igintion switch,not the key cylinder.

Hey man thanks a lot one more thing would that have the affect the key turning loosely almost like a free trunk from back to front

Then it will be the igintion module showed above that is causing your issue.
