where is the knock sensor on an early 1988 c1500

Asked by Joel_trew Oct 17, 2015 at 07:44 PM

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I can't find it. I replaced my ECM with one from a 1990 1500 and I get error 43 which there is no signal from the knock sensor.

I can't remember witch side of the block it is on but if you go under neath the motor & look up on the side of the block by the freeze plugs, it is a bigger round unit with one wire/clip running to it. It goes directly into the water jacket, so unless you drain the coolant down, expect a flood...
