While driving as it starts shifting it acts like it's not getting fuel. It has an old mechanical fuel pump so I thought they were either broken or working with no in between. This is a 1978 Pontiac sunbird 4 cylinder 151 motor. Any ideas?

1995 Jeep Cherokee OverheatingHello all,Got a slight over-heating problem with my Jeep. Actually I noticed this from about 2 years ago and it's still the same today.When I'm stuck in bad traffic, or sit at a red light for too long, the temperature gauge would slowly creep upwards over the middle marker toward the third marker. I have not had it sitting idle for so long that it went into the last red region.But as soon as I start driving again, the temperature drops back down below just under the halfway mark.To me it sounds like an airflow problem, i.e. the engine is not getting enough airflow when it's sitting idle.Could this be the fan? Or a clogged or dirty radiator?I see two fans. The fan on the right always spins. The fan on the left does not spin when the engine is started. I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado extended cab, 4.8 liter. I have had multiple issues with this vehicle, but the one I can't seem to solve is this: if I leave the truck sitting for a day, when I get in and start driving, about 5 miles down the road, it acts like it is being starved of fuel. The engine light starts blinking and there is no power even when i step on the gas fully. After a minute or two, it goes away and runs fine unless I let it sit for a couple days. I just replaced my fuel lines because they were rusted out but that didn't solve the problem. Any ideas anyone? 6 Answers

Engine light is always on and blinks on and off when problem occurs.

My 1990 Alantee acts like it is not getting gas. I can shoot starting fluid in the air filter and the car runs fine until the fluid burns out. I checked the fuses in the center console and they are OK. This happened after the security system went off as a result of me changing a dead battery. I was wondering if there are 2 possibilities preventing the car from running. 1 – Did the factory security system cause my fuel pump to deactivate? And do I need to reset it??? Or 2 – could I have blown a fuse someplace when I changed batteries? I suspect the fuel pump has no power because when I turn the key, I can not hear the pump. I have a 2007 Dodge Ram with the 5.7 hemi. Driving the truck and it starts to drop in rpm then shuts down completely. No codes were thrown. Sounds like it wants to start but not getting fuel? 2 Answers
