What vehicle provides the most 2nd row space while not sacrificing fuel economy?

I have a toddler and an infant with a 50 mile roundtrip commute.

Some SUV's have a back seat that moves back and forth like the Chevy Equinox, but if you want fuel economy, stick with a large to mid sedan.

I was suprised w. My 2011 fiesta, upwards of 36 -40 mpg hwy.
