What would cause my 1994 honda civic ex 1.6l vtec to stall out when I pull 1 spark plug wire but won't miss a beat when I pull another one?

I just replaced distributor cap rotor
wires and plugs bc it was skipping
but it didn't change when I pull off
the number 1 and 4 wires the car
don't change if I pull off 2 or 3 it dies
automatically
