1994 Ford F-150 with small V8 engine.  Runs nice but the round part in front of the air conditioner pump  (AC is not on) starts up with loud click then stops turning. what is that click? or any other info.  thanks. StevO

The click is the air conditioning compressor clutch activating and then disengaging. The a/c compressor will run when the defrost is on. If it is clicking off and on frequently it is likely that the refrigerant level is low. Your truck should have R134a in it.
