My 03 Durango 4.7 keeps over heating even after new thermostat and hoses. The thing is the engine isn't getting hot

Did a "live data" scanner confirm that the engine was not overheating? If so then it is possible that the temp gauge or the temp sender could be defective. You must make sure that all of the air is out of the cooling system for it to operate properly.
