Is there reason they say to mark both cam shafts also what is the difference between the front and back cam shaft on a 1995 Dodge caravan

If it is a 4 cylinder DOHC there is an intake and exhaust cam. Each has a different profile, one for operating the intake valves and the other for operating the exhaust valves. They will look very similar, but they are not the same and the engine will not run properly if at all if they are swapped.
