Why did the ford contour just die?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My friend has a 99 ford contour with
124xxx miles on it.  The brake light was on
and we usually regulated it by adding break
fluid. We do oil changes all the time. We
were almost due for another one. So we
were on a red light waiting for it to be green.
As we were about to go. There was a small
jolt and then the car just rolled  and
wouldn't move. The steering wheel was
locked the dash lights all turned on. And we
rolled to the side and tried to start the car
but, it would just crank. When we opened
the hood it was really hot even the stick to
hold up the hood was hot to touch. There
wasn't any smoke coolant levels were fine.
Did a belt break or something? Is it the fuel
line?

The Ford Contour was an enormous POS car that should have never been built. Now let's sing! "Have you driivennnn a FORDDD lately?"

It ciezed up it got to warm because there wasn't enough coolant or the coolant pump died and didn't supply enough
