It over heated and will not start what could be wrong?

check your belt if it is not on right then that maybe a problem also check if any of your pulley's are broken or loose.

How long did you run it with it overheating? If it was run for too long it could have a blown head gasket. Have you checked your oil to see if there is coolant mixed with it? If your oil is milky in color then yes the head gasket is blown.
