I have a 2000 Taurus wagon the computer will not tell coil to ignite what do i do bought 5months ago from car lot car won't start

How do you know it's the ECU that is not sending the signal to fire coil? First the ECU must get signals from the cam and crank position sensors, then 'tells' the coil to fire
