I have a 2001 Mustang gt with 50k miles. I don't think that being a rousch stage 2 makes a difference but I have a top end knocking noise.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The knocking goes away when I accelerate
in gear. But not raising the rpm at idol.  I
was told by a mechanic that I have a crank
walk issue.  I don't belive that bc for one I
wasn't charged for diagnosis and second,
would it still not make a knocking noise
while I'm accelerating in gear?

I'm sorry I meant to say it has a loud ticking noise instead of a knock
