Why does my 1991 dodge ram w150 continue to die after a few times of running with a new battery?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I put a new battery in, replaced the
terminals, redid wiring but my truck will
continue to die. It runs well but when I slow
down my battery gauge goes way down.
Could it be the alternator?

yes, easy to test alternator. when the bat is fully charged, set your multimeter to volts DC with the engine running hook up the meter leads to the battery red to pos black to neg. you should see between 13.5 and 15 or so volts. if you are below this range then your alternator is bad.
