I have a 2009 c class 300 mercedes benz I put my key in the ignition and it reads remove key from ignition radio comes on light comes on I can lock and unlock doors but car wont crank.

Where did you get the key? Mercedes or "Joe's Storm Door and Key Cutting Company?"

I remember reading something about the steering colum having issues with getting the signal from the key which keeps the car from starting.
