I have a 1995 Roadmaster base edition with a 5.7L engine. It runs rough like a misfire cylinder and blows black smoke if hard accelerated. Then can run like all is fine with all regular power and smooth.Developes obd1 codes 44 and 32. I clear the codes and the only 44 comes back. sometimes no code when running bad. replaced plugs. checked fuel pressure checked injectors. checked egr. all good. now what?

How old is the air filter? Could the O2 sensors be acting up. It seems like you have done the other basic stuff.

air filter new. bad o2 would make rich not lean.
