8/19/2014 My 2003 c240 4 matic has been dying when idling at a stop light.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

. The error message says battery/alternator.All fluid levels seem to be ok. Should I replace
the batter first or alternator? Everything else has been functioning ok, so I am thinking not
the battery.?

Weak alternator,have it checked before replacement,but i think that may be your problem.

Don't buy either until you have them tested.

If battery is 5+ years old replace it regardless. It will strand you at the worst possible time,
