04 gmc sierra 1500 5.3 died on me on the highway got it towed home starting going at it, hooked two different scanners to it and not throwing any codes (ecm is working bc the map was reading correctly but also the rpm was zero) anyways checked fire none checked injectors they wasnt working either(built fuel pressure then unplugged fuel relay then turned engine over and the pressure stayed the exact same) i assume it might be the crank sensor but i would think it would throw a code, anyways came back this morning and before doing anything for the hell of it i checked the gas cap and tightened it and it fired up perfect three different times and the last time i let it run and it died after bout 45 seconds (fuel pressure reads 55) and after it died its doing the same thing cranks but wont fire or start 1 Answer

I have a 67 F-100 with a 390. I am experiencing an intermittent but annoying problem. The truck will start right up most times don't need to touch the gas pedal. The truck runs for say 10 minutes (this varies) then shuts off like I turned off the key. Sotimes it will start right up and other times I have to hold the gas to the floor. Then the game is on. It will stall and I will get stranded. The truck was put up for the winter & I just took it out. It started right up and after letting run for a few minutes I drove it home about 65 miles. No problems at all. 2 days later I go out starts right up go 2 miles stop for gas and it shuts off before I can turn it off. I have had issues before when it gets hot and it will stall and then not start. Please help. 3 Answers

Ok i have a 96' GMC Suburban 5.7. trouble starting. 1)When i turn the key the wants to turn over but it is just flooding. 2) When i turn the key and pump the gas pedal it just flooding. 3)when i turn the key and hold the pedal to the floor(not pumping) it tries to turn but takes est. 10-15 seconds and starts. now once its started i can drive anywhere it seems. But when i turn it off same thing all over again to start it. in last 6months i put a new fuel pump and filter in it. someone said it is a cold cranking problem, but i can go out in the cold and hold the pedal to the floor, turn the key and after 10-15 sec of it trying to turn over it will start. just dont why it wont by just turning the key. 7 Answers
