CHANGED THE THERMOSTAT STILL NO HEAT

2001 DODGE OVERHEATING I TOOK THE RAD. HOSE OFF WITH THE TEE IN IT RAN ONE LONG HOSE  IS THIS WHY THE THERMOSTAT WILL NOT OPEN?

Some times its as easy as replacing radiator cap
