1996 nissan stagea brake lights wont turn off. Brake switch out - still on. Brake fuse out - still on.

Cant get brake lights to turn off unless I disconnect battery.
Even taking the tail light fuse out they stay on. Any suggestions please ...

Check for 12 volt to ground short. Also will need to visually inspect wire harness for shorts.

If it is your rear brake lights you have a short to power. Check at your brake light switch and see if the wires are melted or touching.

This comes from the fuse box.So if you have the fuse out the hot wire is touching on the back of the fuse box to a hot wire or the one going to the tail lights is touching a hot wire in the harness from the pedal to the brake lights somewhere.
