In order for you to bring any car into the state of California it must meet California Emission Control Standards. California has had emissions standards beginning with the 1966 model new cars. Newer vehicles, like the one you're interested in, must be C.A.R.B (California Air Resources Board) compliant. They'll know if it is, at the inspection station, by the emission control devices installed on the engine and by the emissions decal under the hood. HTH. -Jim
