I have a 2000 Chevy s-10 lately when I try starting it the starter keeps engaging while its running id like to know why

The starter is somehow receiving power after the engine is already running. I would suspect it to be one of a few things. The ignition switch, the ignition cylinder, chaffed wiring between the ignition switch and starter, or the starter itself.
