I have a 2005 Ford Taurus, after having my emissions testing done, the car sounds rough running and my gas gauge dropped drastically from 71 to 48 miles per gallon until empty within driving 22 miles. Averaging 14.3 gallons right now. Any suggestions?

Had emissions testing on Friday, car sounds like it isn't running on full cylinders. It runs, drives fine, I don't see any fuel loss, but I'm averaging 14 miles per gallon, started at 71 and am at 43 miles until E after driving 22 miles.

Might be a misfire or vacuum leak. Might be coincidence, but maybe the emissions station removed or didn't connect a hose or wiring harness. Is your CEL on?
