why 2003 Chevrolet s-10 new battery installed still will not start what could be the problem

lights come on at first but once u try to start truck everything goes dead

Sounds like a bad battery cable connection. Check them to be sure they're clean and tight. At the battery and the other ends too. HTH. -Jim

I agree with Jim. Clean and tighten all battery connections. If still no start the check, clean and tighten the negative battery connection on the frame and motor.
