Have a 2005 dodge 2500 the shifter is stuck in park. what is the cause for this.

there is a part called a "rooster comb" that is defective in the shift lever~

Thanks I'll give it a try. I was told it may be the shifter switch. Any input on that being the problem to?

Google "2005 dodge 2500 the shifter is stuck in park" and that's where I found out about the "rooster comb" problem~
