When do i change the timing belt on my RAV4 2-wheel drive 2001?

http://www.toyota.com/owners/web/pages/resources/owners-manuals Your 2001 vehicle's engine doesn't use a belt, your Rav4 has a timing chain. 2000 and earlier do.

Chains do stretch and need replacement as well...there is a "wear shoe" that takes up the slack...when your wear shoe is no longer applying pressure, the timing chain will sound like a can of marbles and you'd better get to changing the sprockets, tensioner and chain but quick~
