Does a 2001 cavalier 2.4l fit In a 1999 cavalier? It has the 2.4l as well

Yes. The 2.4 Twin cam engines from both years are identical. All of the sensors should be the same as only cosmetic changes were made to the cars between those years. But when you do the swap compare the components from the new motor to yours and swap anything that doesn't look right. The timing chain and water pump are good items to replace while that motor is out. (most shops charge 800+ to do the water pump!!)
