my van shuts off when i put it in gear is it because my trans control is bad?

1 Answer

Suspect a plugged EGR, because of the vehicle's age- They can do this, smog control device that is Exhaust Gas Recirculation and makes the vehicle breathe it's own farts to save on pollution. Gets buggered up and needs to be changed, with a vehicle with plenty of time to accumulate gunk in the exhaust path-
