my daughters solstice has the ignition switch stuck is this a serious problem

you might need a ignition cylinder,but first try putting the car to drive(with the car off)and back into park,and you can also try to turn the steering wheel all the way to one side or the other and turning the key at the same time,both have worked for me in other cars and its worth a try before replacing the ignition cylinder
