I want to buy a used C-5 Corvette (1997-2004). Is there one particular year that is better than the others or any years that should be avoided?

I would go for the newest 03 or 04 the some of the early cars had transmitter issues are would leave owners stranded.

97-04 is a large time span., prices will vary extremely, as well as previous care and maintenance, the 00-01 was a very popular model with very few quirks.(that got worked out from 97-99.which engine package are you thinking? there are so many differences, such as ordinary (In the vette world), or z06, narrow it down some according to availability:color, price, (if price isn't an influence may i be your mechanic), (joking), and general preferences.Personally convertible to hard top is the biggest deal breaker....so stick with 00-03 where common maintenance was seemingly low...
