Oh no! What a horrible thing to happen!! It is possible that the transmission could be saved though -- Depending on how much you ran it and tried to drive it in gear. Good luck Dawn!

My 2005 Thunderbird check engine light has been on for months. It has been to shop over and over. They have replaced the battery, changed some sort of sensor, the gas cap is tight and I filled the tank completely and also had the oil changed. They keep saying the scanner says it needs a new map sensor but they then checked with the local Ford dealer who said the car doesn't have a map sensor. What's up? 5 Answers
