i have two cars a 98 grand preix bad enguine and trany the other is a 00 gtp car rolled over but good enging and trany any ideas how i can make this work

They are the exact same car.. Just take the engine, tranny, wiring harness and ecm from the 00 GTP and put it in the 98 GP.

As mentioned before. You will need the ECM and engine wiring harness. As well as other odds and ends (motor mount brackets, brake booster, etc. If your GTP was equipped with the vats system (theft lock) you may need to have the ecm flashed.

You can take the key if you want. I don't think you will need the key. But having an extra wont hurt I guess. And the engine wiring is different so you will need the wiring harness from the GTP.

How bout the overdrive shift knob the 98 dont have it is there a way to connect it

The button on the side of the shifter is not for overdrive. It is a performance shift button. You will prolly need to wire the button up (although it does not need to be on the shifter). Honestly though. Try to swap over as much stuff as you can. The GTP has a lot of bells and whistles like heads up display and stuff that the base model does not have.
