The hoses are swollen due to excessive pressure in your system from the car overheating. Your going to need to diagnose why your car is overheating. It can be any number of things, clogged radiator,low coolant level, fan not working, thermostat, bad headgasket, etc. Check out this link to help. http://www.ifitjams.com/radiator.htm
