searching for 1st time car for son.  Want it to be safe & reliable & hopefully something he likes.  As such,
main focus has been on: honda, nissan, and toyota.  I've seen some eclipses that he might like, but dont
know how reliable these cars are and don't know if they are typically driven by males.  any help will be
appreciated.

Year or mileage are of some concern, but maintanience history is the most important. Was it taken care of? Any of the cars you mentioned will be fine, as they are reliable. The mitsibishi's aren't as reliable, but if it was taken care of, you should be OK. Any older used car you will be putting money into it, some more, some less.
