something slow with a good crash test rating with 4 doors. something common. like a ford torus. also depends on how much money you want to spend.

I started off with an 06 Outlander, which was a really great car. However, it wasn't quite big enough so we now have a 08 Explorer. It has front and side air bags, a lot of room and has an all steal frame... It is made like a tank!

ha-ha, thats good. seriously though i'd suggest a early 2000's biuck lesabre 4-door with the V-6, you can get well maintained, clean, low mileage ones for a reasonable price. they a fairly safe, comfortable and dont cost a ton to upkeep. california is a good place to look for one right now.
