Last I heard was an Aero something or another, ccx maybe? Btw Hennesy's Tuner dubbed Venom beat a Bugatti Veyron in a drag race.

http://www.fastestcar.net/ i dont think that would be for top speed....there are some funny cars that would destroy a car like that. but all depends on what you mean by speed. so yeah, haha

Jesus I hate this question!!! Here the last one... http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/Discussion-d1019_ds466623 It's the 2007 SSC Ultimate Aero TT that holds the record it took it from the Veyron on October 9th 2007. The 2009 SSC Ultimate Aero TT is the theoretical fastest but has yet to make a top speed run, but is designed to break the 270mph barrier with a theoretical limit of 287mph.

actually its not just about the car...it depends on where you tested it...how technical and how short/long the track was and was the car tuned or not in any way either engiune or just suspension...but with british and american cars?i wouldnt agree...ever seen a Zonda go 0-60 in a flash?try timing those babies...just a thought though...just a thought...
