Last I heard was an Aero something or another, ccx maybe? Btw Hennesy's Tuner dubbed Venom beat a Bugatti Veyron in a drag race.

The 2009 SSC Ultimate Aero TT is the theoretical fastest but has yet to make a top speed run, but is designed to break the 270mph barrier with a theoretical limit of 287mph.

acually, i just looked it up. the new record holder is acually a british car @ 260 mph, the Keating TKR. its only three mph's fast than the Shelby

actually its not just about the car...it depends on where you tested it...how technical and how short/long the track was and was the car tuned or not in any way either engiune or just suspension...but with british and american cars?i wouldnt agree...ever seen a Zonda go 0-60 in a flash?try timing those babies...just a thought though...just a thought...
