When will someone sell a midsize hybrid pickup?

You can check out the 2009 Chevy Silverado Hybrid. Granted, not a mid sized truck but as of now, possibly the only real truck available in a hybrid.


hopefully never, hybrids are crap, especially in a truck... they are coming out with smaller diesels for the 1/2 and in the future 1/4 truck market, i would think that a 4 cyl diesel in a 1/4 truck would give at least 30 mpg, if not better considering ive heard of modified 3/4 tons getting 25ish... a gas hybrid might get 15 mpg in a 1/2 ton, while a diesel would get that easily, be cheaper, and have less parts to break.


I totally agree; a Hybrid is great initially. But over the long haul, you don't save as much as you'd think. Battery replacement (OUCH!) that's why they're traded, maintenance and danger of electrocution (find an emergeny worker willing to use jaws of life on one!) makes them a bad choice for me.
