Guessing the right model year?

Question type: General

You start having to guess the model year as well as the make and model once you get past 150. How can you possibly guess the right model year when (1) pictures are so blurry, and/or (2) there are no exterior differences between two model years that are both in the choices?

80% of the time there are exterior changes between all model year choices that are visible in the picture. Usually there was a minor change every couple years to the location or style of foglights or turn signal sidemarkers, painted vs unpainted mirrors and/or door handles, wheel style/size, or other little things like that. But you're right... every now and then there is one that it's simply impossible to know for sure which model year it was, which is super annoying.

1 base guess on how other cars looked of the same era or 2 try to guess from picture quality (better quality is sometimes newer)
