Engine oil leaking, even after tightening the drain plug
it continues to leak. What is the cause of this?

oil plug seal cracked, cracked oil pan where the plug threads in, wrong plug, stripped oil plug threads or in the oil pan itself.

Maybe a copper washer like they use for brake lines to calipers , A smooth flat surface on the oil pan doesn't hurt . Don't go ape$h!t with the torque trying to stop the leak or you'll be sorry
