2018 cla 250 can't fill up gas tank

I own a 2018 CLA 250 the car was in an accident fixed
it went to fill  up my tank and I could only fill it up
three quarters of the way before gas starts coming
out the cap. I I went to fill it up again and this time I
was only able to fill up half the tank what could be the
problem

Sounds like the vent valve on the gas tank is stuck closed. Hope that helps! Jim
