Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had a hose burst underneath my 2001
mercury cougar spilling coolant on the
ground. The hose connect on one to
my intake manifold and here is my
question, on the other end underneath
basically center it connect to one of
two ports. Is this the heater core? I
thought the heater core and its hoses
ran the the engine fire wall and not
below the vehicle. Is this the heater
core connections?

My question wasnt where to connect the hose but instead was this the heater core? With its position being almost underneath the vehicle. I guess the firewall extends a lot lower than what is generally thought
