93 GMC drops rpms when hits 55

What do you means drops RPM? It starts missing or acts like it found a another higher gear? If it starts missing check fuel pressure and delivery rate, bad filter or fuel pump. If it acts like it found a higher gear that is most likely the lockup torque converter activating and that is normal under a cruise condition.
